Character Turnaround
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link » Devlog
Figuring out what to do for my character turnaround was kind of difficult. This is because Zelda two does not have many characters. The sprites for villagers are reused in every village. I decided to create a mage that was an old woman because this game did not have one. The Old man in the red clothes is the character that is in the real game. I tried to keep the look of the character so that if the man was replaced by the woman, it would not be so bizarre. Zelda II is a 2D side scroller, so you never see your characters back. For the Old woman's hair, I based it on the hair of old woman in the game. I had trouble visualizing how the staff would look when the lady faces to the right, but I think that I did a good job.
